This policy explains what personal data I collect, why, and how it is handled.

Who I am and who the data controller is

Caglar Consulting is a trading name used on this website. The data controller responsible for your personal data is CAGLAR BUSINESS CONSULTANCY LTD, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 12919620, with its registered office at 32-33 Upper Street, London, England, N1 0PN. This privacy policy applies to caglar.consulting and any enquiries submitted through it.

What data I collect

What I collect depends on how you interact with this site.

Contact form:

  • First name and last name
  • Email address
  • Phone number (optional)
  • Type of business (optional)
  • Current website URL (optional)
  • Your message
  • Technical form fields such as the subject line and the page the form was submitted from

Checklist signup form:

  • First name
  • Email address
  • Website URL (optional)
  • Which resource you requested

Calendly booking:

  • Name and email address
  • Time zone
  • The appointment time you select
  • Any other booking responses you choose to provide through Calendly

Analytics, after consent: once you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics 4 may collect page views, interaction and event data, general device and browser information, and approximate location.

Hosting and security: this site's hosting infrastructure (Hostinger) may briefly log technical information such as IP address, requested URL, timestamp, and browser/user-agent as part of standard security and diagnostic logging, regardless of whether you submit a form.

I do not ask for or want special category data (such as health, religious belief, or similar sensitive information). Please avoid including this kind of detail in form messages.

Purposes and lawful bases

Each use of personal data has an identifiable purpose and lawful basis under UK GDPR:

  • Contact enquiries and potential service discussions — Article 6(1)(b), taking steps at your request prior to a possible contract; where that basis doesn't apply, Article 6(1)(f), legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and managing business communication.
  • Checklist requests and delivering the requested resource — Article 6(1)(f), legitimate interest in fulfilling your explicit request and managing the related communication.
  • Calendly bookings — Article 6(1)(b), taking steps at your request to arrange a meeting prior to a possible contract; where relevant, Article 6(1)(f), legitimate interest in managing appointments and business communication.
  • GA4 analytics — Article 6(1)(a), your consent, which you can withdraw at any time via Cookie Settings.
  • Hosting and security logs — Article 6(1)(f), legitimate interest in keeping the site secure, available, and protected against misuse.
  • Records I am required to keep by law — Article 6(1)(c), legal obligation.

How your data is not used

  • Contact form and checklist data is not automatically added to a mailing list.
  • Your data is not used for advertising or third-party direct marketing.
  • Personal data is never sold.
  • No solely automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects is carried out.
  • Google Analytics is not used for advertising storage or ad personalisation — this site's consent system keeps advertising storage denied.

Personal data is shared with the small number of service providers described below where necessary to run this site — it is not shared with unrelated third parties.

Service providers and recipients

The following organisations may process personal data on my behalf, or otherwise receive it as part of running this website:

  • Formspree — processes contact and checklist form submissions. formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy
  • Calendly — provides appointment scheduling. calendly.com/legal/privacy-notice
  • Google Analytics / Google — provides site analytics, only after you consent. policies.google.com/privacy
  • Hostinger — hosts and delivers this website, and may generate security and technical logs as part of that hosting.
  • My email provider — receives form notifications forwarded by Formspree so I can read and respond to them.
  • Professional advisers or public authorities — only where I am legally required to share information with them.

International transfers

Some of the service providers listed above — including Formspree, Calendly, Google, and some infrastructure providers — may process data outside the UK. Where this happens, the transfer relies on UK adequacy regulations, or on the provider's own contractual or other appropriate safeguards.

How long I keep it

  • Enquiry, checklist, and booking-related correspondence I hold directly is typically kept for no longer than 12 months.
  • If a conversation develops into an actual client relationship, related business records may be kept for as long as contractual, accounting, tax, or other legal obligations require.
  • Calendly, Formspree, Google, and Hostinger may retain data in their own systems under their own retention controls and privacy notices.
  • Analytics data is retained according to the active GA4 retention settings and for as long as reasonably needed to understand site usage.
  • Hosting and security logs are kept for no longer than reasonably needed for security and technical diagnostic purposes.
  • Your cookie consent choice is stored in your browser's local storage for up to 12 months.

You can request deletion of the data I hold directly at any time.

Calendly

The Contact page includes an optional Calendly booking calendar. Calendly's resources are not loaded automatically — they only load after you click "Load Booking Calendar."

Once loaded, booking an appointment sends your name, email address, time zone, and selected appointment time to Calendly (calendly.com) to schedule and confirm it. After the calendar loads, Calendly may also set its own cookies, local storage, or similar technologies as part of how it operates — this is separate from, and not controlled by, this site's own analytics cookie choice described below.

Choosing to load the Calendly calendar is a separate action from accepting analytics cookies — declining one does not affect the other.

For Calendly booking data, CAGLAR BUSINESS CONSULTANCY LTD is the controller and Calendly acts as the booking service provider. Calendly's own platform-level processing is separately governed by Calendly's own privacy notice, which you can review at calendly.com/legal/privacy-notice.

Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics 4, but only after you actively choose "Accept" in the cookie banner. No Analytics script loads, and no data is collected, before that choice — and none at all if you choose "Reject" or make no choice.

When enabled, Analytics collects usage and device data — for example, which pages are visited, how long is spent on them, and general device or browser information. Google may process this data on servers outside the UK. You can learn more at policies.google.com/privacy.

To opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Cookies

This website uses analytics cookies set by Google Analytics, only after you choose "Accept" in the cookie banner shown on your first visit — no analytics cookies are set before that choice, and none are set at all if you choose "Reject" or make no choice.

You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer of any page. Choosing "Reject" (including changing a previous "Accept") stops future analytics collection and removes existing analytics cookies from your browser.

Your choice is remembered for up to 12 months, after which you will be asked again. You will also be asked again if this cookie policy changes in a way that affects what is collected.

This site's own tag setup does not run any advertising tags. If you choose to load the Calendly booking calendar (see the Calendly section above), Calendly may then set its own cookies under its own controls and privacy notice — that choice is separate from, and independent of, the analytics cookie choice you make here.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, depending on the lawful basis and circumstances, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data I hold about you
  • Request correction (rectification) of inaccurate data
  • Request erasure of your data
  • Request restriction of processing
  • Object to processing
  • Request data portability, where applicable
  • Withdraw consent, where processing is based on consent
  • Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

These rights are not absolute — they can depend on the lawful basis used and on legal exemptions that may apply in a given situation.

You have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can do this by emailing info@caglar.consulting.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how your personal data has been handled, you can email info@caglar.consulting in the first instance. CAGLAR BUSINESS CONSULTANCY LTD will acknowledge a data-protection complaint within 30 days of receiving it.

Acknowledging your complaint within 30 days does not mean it will be fully resolved within that time. After acknowledgement, appropriate enquiries will be made, you will be kept informed of progress, and the outcome will be communicated to you without undue delay.

A complaint is a separate process from a rights request (such as a subject access request) — rights requests are subject to their own separate statutory time limits under UK GDPR.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK's supervisory authority, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), at any time: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, or by calling the ICO helpline on 0303 123 1113.

Do you have to provide this information?

You are not required to use the contact form, checklist signup, or Calendly booking calendar. However, without the required fields, I cannot process your enquiry, deliver the checklist, or confirm a booking. If you would prefer not to use these, you can reach me directly by phone or email — see the contact page for details.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a material way, an updated version will be published on this page with a revised date.
